The first sign of spring is right around the corner…

That’s right, Sunday, March 10th at 2 am, we will “spring” our clocks forward losing one hour.

Daylight saving time officially started in the United States after Congress passed the act to set up time zones in 1918. The idea behind the time change was to make better use of natural sunlight.  Not everyone takes part in the time change. In fact, Hawaii, Arizona and a few others US Territories do not participate in Daylight Saving Time.

As you change your clocks this Saturday night before bed, remember it’s always a good time to change the batteries in your carbon monoxide and smoke detectors.
